Perfect is the enemy of Good

Did you ever want to do something but kept waiting for the perfect moment or the ideal way to do it? And so, maybe even now you’re still waiting to start.

I’ve started my personal website — Ovi.co in early 2016 and committed to blogging a couple of times a month. But then as we started SocialBee.io and that required all the available time, and more, my blog was left collecting virtual dust.

We barely even made any announcements about SocialBee — neither to the market (to let them know we’re here) nor to our customers (to let them know about the new features we kept building). And that’s a major no-no.

But when you’re in startup mode, all rules are suspended, as you have to do all you can to quickly build an amazing product, find users or paying customers (we’re focused on customers), hire an A team, and so much more.

We’re now ready to tell the world about what we do and what we’re learning while doing it.

But then coming back to my initial problem — How to start? Where? When? Do we create a blog on SocialBee’s website? Should I blog on Ovi.co? On Medium.com? Regular or hosted? We gave this a good thought, and we decided to move my personal blog on a premium Medium plan, so we can use our own domain. More about the whys behind this in another post.

So then… What’s the first perfect post?

After much self-debate, I realized there isn’t any perfect first post. There shouldn’t be. What matters is to get started. To break the seal. And no, I don’t mean in that way. Even though, if this will mean I’ll now just write more often, that would be great! :)

So even though this post is similar to a Seinfeld episode — a post about nothing, it broke the seal.

Plus, it has this picture of Kramer, which is always great!
